Client Overview

Canadian International College (CIC) is a leading private university in Egypt with five academic schools serving over 10,000 students across two campuses in Sheikh Zayed and the New Administrative Capital.

The Challenge

CIC's leadership recognized a critical gap: while students excelled academically, they lacked the practical, career-ready skills increasingly demanded by employers. The university needed to:

  • Fulfill Ministry of Higher Education L&D requirements
  • Enhance student employability without disrupting academic curriculum
  • Deliver scalable programs across multiple schools and academic levels
  • Provide internationally recognized credentials
  • Minimize operational burden on university staff

Traditional approaches — hiring external trainers for ad-hoc workshops or building internal programs — proved either too generic or resource-intensive.

The Solution

CIC partnered with IGS & Partners for a comprehensive L&D transformation using the turnkey microcredential model.

Phase 1: Needs Assessment (September 2024)

  • Career mapping survey administered to 5,000+ students
  • Gap analysis across five schools: Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Pharmacy, Mass Communication
  • Stakeholder workshops with deans and department heads
  • Industry input from advisory boards

Phase 2: Program Design (October 2024)

  • 20 custom microcredential programs designed
  • Aligned to four academic levels (freshman through senior)
  • School-specific content for technical programs
  • Cross-functional programs for all students
  • Complete facilitator guides and assessment tools developed

Phase 3: Delivery Week Execution (November 2024)

  • Two-campus simultaneous delivery
  • 30+ certified facilitators deployed
  • 6,125 students scheduled across 200+ sessions
  • 9-hour intensive programs per student
  • Interactive workshops with hands-on activities
  • Real-time quality monitoring
